Euro London’s client, a world leader in 3D Printing of metal components is looking for a talented technology developer who can also see the finished product through the eyes of an end user.

Whether it’s in the industrial, medical or dental sectors, your knowledge will ensure that complex 3D printers are developed to manufacture complex geometries, that are not producible using traditional techniques.

As an Electronic Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll be part of a dynamic, agile operations team of 10 engineers in France, part of a larger company of 60 engineers in the French office, which includes production and R&D engineers.

The position

 

 

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of all production related equipment and processes.

Given this, you should have a background and experience in electro-mechanical assembly processes , how to characterize, improve and stabilize such processes as well as an advanced level understanding of electric/electronic product introduction and development within multi-disciplinary teams.

You’re a leader and problem solver, with detailed technical knowledge and a hands-on approach to testing and selecting components and product assembly for prototyping. You possess strong communications skills to work with internal company colleagues as well as with suppliers with equal professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as a key contributor for the development of new products, ensuring the manufacturability , reliability, quality and cost of the machine.
  • Works with other electrical , software, process and mechanical counterparts to improve hardware solutions and integrate them into manufacturing.
  • Cross-functional partnering with production and R&D colleagues , you’ll ensure the required technical support for all critical process and product issue resolution as well as technical direction and support for all product builds and process operations.
  • Drive ongoing improvements in all related manufacturing , assembly and test processes, including those related to products, equipment and product quality.
  • Develops and maintains standard processes and training documents for the production line with support through technical writers.
  • Support testing and continuous maintenance of the current electrical and firmware systems based on the feedback of Quality Assurance and Customers.

Profile

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical / Electronic Engineering with solid troubleshooting skills.
  • At least one years’ solid electrical (manufacturing) engineering experience.
  • Basic skills in C or C++ in embedded environments. Experience in PLC and Automation programming (working experience with Beckhoff would be of benefit)
  • Must be able to use electronics diagnostic tools i.e. oscilloscopes, DVM, and data acquisition
  • Working knowledge of EMI, ESD and shielding practices and application; experience with EMI and safety certification is desired
  • Action oriented with ability to communicate at all levels in the organization
  • Good balance of pragmatism and structured project management
  • Solid knowledge of electronic engineering (EPLAN P8), principles of electronics testing, design for manufacturability, testability, and cost.
  • Willingness and ability to go beyond own scope of work to drive things forward and get the job done. This is a multi-faceted role where you may occasionally support production and R&D team colleagues.

  • Solid spoken and written English language skills and fluent French.
  • Preferred working knowledge of optical systems (installation, calibration, optimization, troubleshooting)
