Our client, a world leader in digital timing and time display solutions is currently looking for a qualified and fluent English and French speaking Embedded Networks and Systems Engineer / Ingénieur Systèmes et Réseaux Embarqué to join their specialised R&D team.
With experience in embedded systems development, specifically in C/C++ on Linux, with a sound networking and cyber security background, you would play a key role in our client’s R&D team as our client expands their French team that is current made up of 13 engineers.
Focused on the Time and Sports markets, with an ambitious international growth strategy, you would be involved in developing the embedded systems for the Time Servers that are associated with their LED video screen, audio, cube displays and digital time display board-based technologies.
These are used by hundreds of public and corporate sector organisations and sports teams in France and in over 140 countries, for whom you will be a trusted partner when new products are launched and to provide support, alongside two colleagues focused on product support.
As a family-owned French success story for over 150 years, our client is proud to design, develop and produce their products in France and you would be based at their historic headquarters in the south of the Maine-et-Loire (49).
The position and its responsibilities
As the technical expert on our client’s Time Servers range your responsibilities would include :
- Playing a key role in the design and development of embedded systems.
- Collaborating with the Marketing, Pre-Sales and Post-Sales teams in responding to calls to tender ( appels d’offre) for key accounts, whilst consistently guaranteeing the quality of our client’s products.
- Managing projects with clear objectives in relation to cost, quality and deadlines.
- Carrying out feasibility studies, testing and analysis to guarantee performance, security and compatibility of our client’s embedded networks and systems.
- Providing technical support to end users, whilst actively carrying out technology monitoring in the embedded systems, IP networks and cyber security areas.
Your background
- A university degree in engineering or as a “ technician supérieur” with solid experience in embedded systems, IP networks and cyber security.
- Strong knowledge of C/C++.
- Experience and ease in project management, you enjoy working independently as well as within the wider team when required.
- The position is stand-alone within the team, so is ideal for a candidate who is used to working on specialised projects as part of a wider team but with their own specific part of the project.
- You speak English to a high level to communicate with international colleagues and clients.
